Duties
Burnham Elementary School is seeking a full-time Social Worker to assist school staff and families in developing and implementing social-emotional support for general & special education students. Other duties include:
•To participate in the development of Behavior Management Plans to aid children who have been referred for services.
•To work collaboratively with all staff to ensure that all student's needs are being met academically, socially, and emotionally.
•To make community and public or private institution contacts to provide outreach services to families of students as needed.
•To participate in IEP meetings.
•To recommend appropriate intervention procedures for children who are evaluated.
•To maintain well-organized, current IEP schedule for all students, and distribute to administration, classroom and special education staff on a regular basis.
•To work with district representatives to ensure that all IEP's are in compliance.
Qualifications
Professional Educator license with school social worker endorsement. Experience with students with disabilities and knowledge of special education procedures is a must. Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed.
