Duties

Responsibilities

  • Support and uphold the Catholic mission of the school.
  • Plan a program of study with logically sequenced objectives.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques meeting the individual needs and abilities of the students.
  • Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom.
  • Communicate with parents regarding academic, behavioral, or safety concerns.
  • Evaluate academic growth of students.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate confidential records such as gradebook, attendance, etc.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the work environment and grow professionally.
  • Establish positive relationships and rapport with students.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Current Professional Educators License or Certificate with proper endorsement
  • Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church

Central Catholic High School is seeking a faithful, passionate, selfless, and resilient part-time Spanish teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.  Applicants must be enthusiastic about the mission of Central Catholic High School.  They should have the ability to collaborate with department colleagues in constructing and executing their curricula, develop syllabi, hold high academic and behavior expectations for all their students, offer support and instruction to students at all ability levels, and deliver high quality instruction.  The preferred candidate has an understanding, experience, and ability to utilize the Comprehensible Input method of language teaching, enthusiasm for working with youth, a strong understanding of effective instructional practices, and the desire to work in a Christian environment.

The position is for two Spanish 1 courses which are taught on our Gold day bell schedule, which occurs every other day on our school calendar.  The time of these courses are 10:30am-12:20pm (with a break during class for lunch) and 12:25pm-1:45pm.  Candidates are encouraged to reach out to Mr. Christopher McGraw, Principal, at cmcgraw@cchssaints.org with any questions regarding the position or application process.
