Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Bus Driver to ensure the safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school and related activities. This vital role involves operating school buses with professionalism, maintaining a positive attitude, and fostering a safe environment for children. As a School Bus Driver, you will be the first point of contact for students and parents, representing our commitment to safety, service, and community engagement. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere while adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate school buses on designated routes, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of students.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to maintain a secure environment.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of the bus to verify mechanical condition, safety equipment, and cleanliness.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and dispatchers using clear English or multilingual skills as needed.
• Manage student behavior on the bus through positive behavior management techniques, ensuring a respectful atmosphere.
• Assist students with special needs or disabilities, including those requiring paratransit services or childcare support.
• Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, incidents, and student attendance as required.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns politely and professionally while fostering trust within the community.

Qualifications

Experience

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for school bus driving.
• Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving roles with a focus on safety and customer service.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems related to vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with children or in childcare environments is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities.
• Familiarity with behavior management strategies to handle student conduct effectively.

Salary/Benefits

 $24.50 - $26.75 per hour
