Champaign Unit 4 Schools RtI Interventionist

Duties

Performance Responsibilities:
I. INSTRUCTION
A. Provides explicit, scientifically-based instruction to small groups of students
B. Prepares and delivers focused reading and/or math interventions to struggling students
C. Provides instructional support in the implementation of interventions, which could include but is not limited to modeling the intervention, team teaching, or providing feedback/suggestions regarding implementation
II. ASSESSMENT
A. Reviews data frequently to make or adjust instructional decisions
B. Supports building-wide AIMSweb benchmark assessments
C. Works with teachers and staff in preparing for, administering, and interpreting AIMSweb benchmark assessments
D. Uses knowledge of diagnostic assessment tools to determine student needs
E. Participates in the development and implementation of progress monitoring systems and the analysis of student outcomes by interpreting screening and progress monitoring assessments
III. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Assists with planning, organization, and facilitation of “Data Days” with all grade levels
B. Participates in regular grade level and/or building level team meetings to review current data and make or adjust instructional decisions
C. Provides professional development regarding RtI processes to grade level staff and/or the entire staff, as appropriate
D. Serves on the RtI District Leadership Team
E. Meets with and communicates regularly with the District RtI Coordinator to ensure consistency in implementing RtI across the District.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Holds valid, appropriate teacher licensure
  • Minimum of three (3) years of classroom/literacy teaching experience, five (5) years strongly preferred
  • Well versed in effective research-based interventions
  • Can effectively facilitate and/or lead collaboration teams and building level professional development
  • Successful experience working with diverse student populations and with using a variety of resources to meet student needs
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge in a variety of content areas
  • Knowledge of data collection, analysis and usage to ensure high fidelity implementation of instruction and intervention
  • Master's Degree and/or Reading/Math Endorsement (preferred)

Salary/Benefits

Compensation

  • The salary for this position is determined based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Federation of Teachers, which includes a different level of compensation for positions designated as "hard to fill." The full salary schedule and the Hard to Fill positions list are available on our website. The District currently gives experienced teachers unlimited experience credit for service outside the District. New teachers may request up to $2,000 as a salary advance to help with relocation expenses or other needs. 100% of a teacher's contributions to TRS are currently paid by the Board of Education. The Board currently pays 100% of a teacher's employee-only health, dental, and term life insurance. There is a minimal employee cost for vision insurance. There are many opportunities for teachers to earn substantial additional compensation (stipends, differentials, extra duty pay, etc.) during the regular school year and in the summer.
  • The District offers an additional $1,500 annual stipend for Teachers who hold a national board certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
  • Individuals hired into a 1.0 FTE position in the CFT bargaining unit after October 1, 2023 are eligible for a $1,000 Sign-On Bonus. Details can be found on the Human Resources page of our website.
