Duties

Elementary School Principal at Wilson Creek (PreK-1st Grade) 

• Demonstrate support for the mission, beliefs, and goals of MSD114
• Provide vision and leadership to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
• Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instructional programs
• Use student achievement data to guide instructional decisions and continuous school improvement
• Support teachers through observation, evaluation, coaching, and professional development
• Promote and sustain a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment
• Implement student discipline procedures that are fair, consistent, and aligned with restorative practices
• Foster social-emotional learning and support systems to address the diverse needs of students
• Encourage collaboration, innovation, and shared leadership among staff
• Recruit, hire, and retain high-quality staff members
• Supervise and evaluate certified and classified personnel
• Provide opportunities for professional growth and capacity building for staff
• Cultivate a positive, collaborative culture that values teamwork and continuous improvement
• Oversee day-to-day building operations, including scheduling, facilities management, and student activities
• Ensure compliance with district policies, state and federal regulations, and reporting requirements
• Manage budgets and resources effectively to support school goals
• Lead crisis management, safety drills, and emergency preparedness
• Maintain open and transparent communication with families regarding student progress, school programs, and district initiatives
• Build strong partnerships with parents, guardians, and community organizations
• Represent the school positively within the Manhattan School District 114 community'
• Encourage family engagement in school activities, events, and decision-making
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

Qualifications

•  Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with General Administrative or Principal endorsement required
• Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience; leadership experience preferred
• Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and best practices in teaching and learning
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to build trust, inspire others, and lead with fairness, integrity, and vision

Salary/Benefits

Minimum Salary: $100,000 based on education and experience

Benefits align with district administrative guidelines and Board of Education policy
