Duties
Job Goal: Collaborate with district administration, school leaders, instructional teams, and teachers to design, implement, and support data-informed strategies that promote continuous student growth and increased achievement. Provide visionary leadership in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development by leveraging research-based practices, integrating technology to enhance learning, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the district.
Supervision: Provide guidance, support, and oversight in the evaluation of district staff and administrators, ensuring effective performance, professional growth, and alignment with district goals.
Performance Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Provide visionary and strategic leadership for curriculum, instruction, and assessment across the district.
- Collaborate with district administration, principals, and instructional teams to promote a culture of high expectations, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Professional Growth
- Develop and facilitate ongoing professional development aligned to district priorities, teacher needs, and student achievement goals.
- Mentor and support school leaders and instructional staff to strengthen teaching practices and leadership capacity.
Instructional Services
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs and initiatives that meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Integrate technology and research-based instructional strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
Professional Services
- Serve as a resource to administrators and staff regarding best practices in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student learning.
- Lead initiatives to ensure equitable access to high-quality educational programs and services.
Staff Supervision and Evaluations
- Supervise and evaluate district-level instructional staff, curriculum specialists, and other assigned personnel.
- Establish performance expectations, provide feedback, and support professional growth and accountability.
In-Service Education
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate in-service training programs for teaching and administrative staff.
- Ensure professional learning is aligned with district goals, research-based practices, and state standards.
Communications
- Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, administrators, staff, parents, and the community regarding curriculum and instructional initiatives.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for the school board and district leadership.
Budgeting and Planning
- Develop and manage budgets related to curriculum, instruction, professional development, and instructional resources.
- Participate in strategic planning to align resources and initiatives with district priorities.
Research and Program Evaluation
- Analyze student achievement data, assessment results, and program effectiveness to inform decisions and improvements.
- Conduct research and stay current with educational trends, best practices, and Illinois state requirements.
Policies and Procedures
- Develop, implement, and monitor district policies, procedures, and standards related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Records and Reports
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to instructional programs, professional development, staff evaluations, and student achievement.
- Prepare and submit required reports to the superintendent, school board, and state agencies.
Additional Duties
- Represent the district at local, regional, and state educational meetings, conferences, and professional associations.
- Attend school board meetings to present reports, updates, and recommendations regarding curriculum, instruction, and student achievement initiatives.
- Collaborate with community partners, higher education institutions, and external agencies to enhance instructional programs and student learning opportunities.
- Support the integration of new initiatives, programs, or technologies as directed by the superintendent or district leadership.
- Serve on district committees and task forces as assigned to address curriculum, instruction, assessment, or strategic planning needs.
- Assist in developing and maintaining district-wide goals and improvement plans aligned with the district’s mission and vision.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the superintendent to support the overall operation and success of the district.
Salary/Benefits
Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 based upon experience and credentials
