Coordinator

Duties

Support school teams as an active member of the Building-Based Team, helping staff, aides, and related service providers problem-solve, plan, and deliver high-quality instruction and supports for students with disabilities.

Facilitate Eligibility meetings with clarity and confidence, guiding teams through decision-making around eligibility and service delivery.

Participate in IEP meetings as a technical resource, helping teams write compliant, meaningful plans aligned with student needs.

Coordinate and attend Annual Reviews, ensuring timelines are met and teams feel prepared.

Provide the Executive Director with thoughtful feedback on forms, policies, and procedures that could improve practice or streamline workflow.

Offer insight on the development or expansion of special education programs within member districts.

Monitor programs for alignment with class-size and age-range requirements, addressing concerns proactively.

Review student files as needed to help districts determine service needs for students entering the cooperative.

Serve as a clear, reliable liaison between BMP and member districts, strengthening communication and consistency.

Monitor IEPs for accuracy, compliance, and coherence, offering support where improvements are needed.

Engage in professional learning through in-service sessions, workshops, and seminars to stay current on key issues in special education.

Develop and provide professional development to BMP's member districts and surrounding counties. 

Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications

A minimum of two years of special education teaching experience is required, along with a supervisory or administrative license. We are open to considering candidates who are actively working toward administrative licensure.

Salary/Benefits

Salary Range:
$60,000 to $70,000, based on experience.

Board-Paid TRS:
BMP covers the employee’s TRS contribution.

Health Insurance:
BMP provides up to $5,000 per plan year toward the cost of single health insurance for eligible employees.
If the annual single-coverage premium exceeds $5,000, BMP and the employee split the remaining cost 50/50.

Employees who elect dependent or family coverage pay the difference between the single-coverage premium and the family-coverage premium.

Employees hired on or after July 1, 2005 who decline insurance receive a salary credit up to $3,500.

Professional Development:
BMP provides a generous annual stipend for professional growth opportunities.

Mileage Reimbursement:
Employees receive mileage reimbursement at the current IRS rate for all work-related travel after their first stop of the day. Travel from the final work site back home is not eligible for reimbursement.
