Duties
12 Month Position
The Assistant Principal for curriculum, Instruction and Assessments shall be directly responsible to the High School Principal. In general, the responsibilities of the Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessments shall be to work closely with the Principal in developing the goals and programs for the high school. All qualifications and duties are considered essential to fulfill the requirements for the position of Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessments.
Specifically the duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Work with the Principal, coordinators, other building administrators, and the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, and the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Assessment in the development of curriculum goals, curriculum revisions and evaluation of the total school program.
- Co-chair Data Leadership Team.
- Evaluate teachers as assigned by Principal.
- Serve as liaison to high school departments: Language Arts, Social Studies, Business, Industrial Technology, Consumer Science, Foreign Language, and Student Services (Counseling).
- Serve as liaison to high school departments in the development of curriculum and instructional methodologies.
- Supervise and coordinate curricular assessment and state testing programs.
- Assist the principal in the development and supervision of assessment programs to monitor and influence curricula and instructional decisions.
- Work with the Principal in supervising and evaluating all employees of the high school. As the Building Principal is responsible for curriculum development and implementation, the Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessments shall serve in curricula projects under the authority of the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Assessment.
- Lead the high school 10-12 Problem-Solving Team, with particular attention to all RTI programs and assessments.
- Assist the Principal in the development and coordination of the school improvement plan and processes.
- Serve as administrative liaison for Student Information Systems.
- To develop and coordinate the new teacher induction and in-service program at Moline High School.
- To develop and coordinate the staff professional development programs at Moline High School in conjunction with the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
- Assist in the development of administrative procedures.
- Assist the Principal in the development of the master school calendar.
- Assume responsibilities for Honors convocation and Commencement activities.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the school, community, and public relations.
- Supervise the high school office and appropriate administrative assistant personnel.
- Assist in the writing and facilitation of instructional grants.
- Assist with the credit recovery programs and classes including night, Saturday, and summer school.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Principal, which the employee is qualified to perform.
Qualifications
12 Month Position:
The Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessments shall hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an Illinois Administrative Certificate and shall present evidence of successful teaching experience.
It is preferred that this person have experience at the secondary level as a teacher, counselor, or administrator.
Salary/Benefits
2026-2027 School Year:
12 month position
New hire salary placement range $114,574 to $125,907.
Placement within this salary range will be based on previous administrative experience
