Third Grade Teacher

Duties

  • Deliver instruction in core content areas aligned with Illinois Learning Standards
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
  • Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment
  • Assess student progress and use data to guide instruction
  • Communicate effectively with families and collaborate with colleagues
  • Participate in professional development and school initiatives
  • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies aligned with Illinois Learning Standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
  • Integrate technology and instructional resources to enhance learning.
  • Support students’ social-emotional development and model positive behavior.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with school, district, and state requirements.
  • Uphold school policies, procedures, and professional ethics.

Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Elementary Education endorsement (Grades 1–6)
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Experience at the elementary level preferred

Salary/Benefits

Annual Salary: Starting at $41,200 per the Mount Olive Education Association Contract (2024-2027).
