Duties

• The ESL/Bilingual Paraprofessional will support English learners and work closely with ESL/Bilingual teachers and classroom teachers to assist students in developing English language proficiency and obtain academic content. 

Qualifications

Must be bilingual in Spanish and English

Salary/Benefits

• $17.61 per hour
• 32 hours per school year calendar
• IMRF Pension, Tier 2
• Optional summer school support schedule during the month of June
• Optional evening hours for BPAC events

Additional Notes

• Provide small-group and one-on-one instructional support under teacher supervision.
• Assist with language development, reading, writing, listening, and speaking activities.
• Help students understand classroom assignments and instructions.
• Support students' social-emotional and cultural adjustment to school.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, materials, and classroom organization. 
• Monitor and document student progress as directed.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and families as appropriate.
• Supervise students during class transitions, lunch, or other assigned times. 
• Must have or be willing to secure a Paraprofessional license. 
• Other occasional work assignments as requested from supervisor.
