Duties
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial
- Develops and communicates a vision for the district in the area of finance
- Interprets data and creates systems that respond to the district’s financial needs
- Advises and serves as a resource to the Superintendent, members of the Board and district administrators and staff in all areas related to the District’s finances
- Serves as the district treasurer
- Prepares and presents the district’s long range financial plan
- Prepares and presents the district’s levy
- Develops and implements the budget process and prepares periodic financial reports
- Oversees the district’s annual financial audit
- Prepares and files all business and finance related reports as necessary and in accordance with deadlines
- Participates in the collective bargaining process and provides analyses and data
- Oversees all accounting procedures and functions including collection and disbursement of all funds and appropriate reporting of all transactions
- Oversees and supports Central Registrar with student transportation services
- Oversees and supports Central Registrar and Building Administration with food service programs
- Oversees and supports Building Administration with procurement activities
- In collaboration with Director of Human Resources, manages insurance and benefits programs to ensure effectiveness and cost efficiencies
- In collaboration with Teaching and Learning Department and Student Services Department manages the financial administration of all grants and claims
- Responsible for the accounting procedures & efficient use of financial system
- Directs and evaluates business office staff
- Serves as facilitator of District committees including the including the Insurance committee, Finance committee, and other committees as needed
Facilities
- Supervises Director of Operations, Maintenance, and Safety
- Develops appropriate procedures for selecting and using the professional services of architects, engineers, risk managers, construction managers, general contractors and other professionals
- Analyzes the legal and administrative responsibilities of advertising, awarding, and managing construction contracts
- Evaluates the research, current practices and issues regarding the impact of energy, safety, and environmental factors
- Plans for facilities-related needs: prepare population projections; develop educational specifications; analyze amortization of bond issues; evaluate buildings, etc
- In collaboration with the Director of Operations, manages the district’s sustainability initiatives, including serving as facilitator of Resource Conservation Committee
Other Functions
- Provides leadership in areas of safety and security
- Collaborates with the Cabinet to support district initiatives
- Develops strategies to ensure the highest level of efficiency and quality of district programs
- Attends school board meetings, providing information and clarification of issues when necessary
- Creates opportunities for ongoing dialogue with building administrators and staff to support district initiatives
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements

- Federal, state, and district policies, regulations and laws pertaining to job functions
- Preparing and maintaining accurate records
- Business appropriate grammar and punctuation in English
- Reading and spoken fluency and comprehension in English
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

- Operation of standard office equipment and computers, including Google Suite, Office Suite, and fund accounting software

Specific physical ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
- Sitting/Standing/Walking: Sitting for extended periods of, with some walking and standing for tasks like operating equipment or moving around the office
- Computer Use: Extensive use of computer terminals, requiring vision, focus, and repetitive hand/finger motions
- Lifting/Carrying: Generally minimal, potentially lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally
- Speaking/Hearing: Speaking clearly and hearing normal levels of speech, including on the phone
- Dexterity: Significant finger dexterity for typing and using office equipment
Salary/Benefits
SALARY: Commensurate with experience, ranging from $185,000 - $215,000. Including Family HMO and Paid TRS/THIS.
