The Assistant Principal shall be directly responsible to the High School Principal, and through the Principal to the Superintendent of Schools. This person shall cooperate with the administration as necessary in the exercise of duties. In general, the responsibilities of this position shall be to work closely with the administrative team in developing the goals and programs for the high school. All qualifications and duties are considered essential to fulfill the requirements for the position of Assistant Principal of Buildings, Grounds, Instruction, Computer, and Finance.
The following positions shall report to the Moline High School assistant Principal (for Buildings, Grounds, Instruction, Computer, and Finance):
- Administrative Assistant for the Assistant Principal (for Buildings, Grounds, Instruction, Computer, and finance.
Specific duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Work with the Principal and other building administrators in the development of curriculum goals, curriculum revision, and evaluation of the total school program.
- Serve as co-chair of the Leadership Team.
- Serve as co-coordinator of 504 Plans.
- Evaluate teachers as assigned by the Principal.
- Evaluate Moline High School custodial staff with input from building administration and Director of Facilities.
- Assist with the development of administrative policy.
- Serve as building coordinator of registration and verification of student residency.
- Develop the school budget with the Principal and department chairpersons.
- Serve as liaison to the Moline High School ASPIRE program.
- Supervise all custodial and maintenance services.
- Serve as treasurer of school activity accounts.
- Supervise the cafeteria and hall supervisory personnel.
- Handle accounting and banking procedures for all monies.
- Supervise ordering, distribution, and accounting of supplies and equipment.
- Serve as the direct supervise of the police liaison officer.
- Coordinate program assessments for all teacher evaluations, activities and clubs.
- Coordinate the high school building rental and assure that facilities are prepared and equipment is in place for all scheduled events at the high school: including custodial schedules for building use and the scheduling of weekend building checks.
- Assure that the high school and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, play areas and all grounds, are neat and clean at all times. Coordinate high school custodial staff to provide effective and appropriate snow removal at that facility.
- Oversee securing of the high school facility as necessary.
- Supervise the maintenance and operation of all administrative computer operations at the high school.
- Assist the Principal in developing the master schedule.
- Completed custodial evaluations with input from Lead 2nd shift custodian.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Principal, which the employee is qualified to perform.
All qualifications are considered essential to fulfill the requirements for the position of the Moline High School Assistant Principal (for Buildings, Grounds, Instruction, Computer and Finance.)
Qualifications
The applicant must present evidence that he or she holds an Illinois Administrative Certificate with at least the general Administrative Endorsement or the equivalent.
Minimum certification requirements include a Master's Degree and the completion of a State of Illinois approved program in Educational Administration.
The applicant must possess the personal characteristics and general ability to work effectively and cooperatively with people. It would be desirable that the individual appointed to this position have successful administrative experience. It would be desirable that the individual appointed to this position be or become a legal resident within the boundaries of the School District.
Salary/Benefits
2026-2027 School Year:
New Hire Salary Placement Range: $114,574. to $125,907.
Placement within this salary range will be based upon previous administrative experience.
