Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Valid Professional Educator License
- Three to five years of classroom experience preferred
- Library coursework or a Master's of Library Information preferred
- Strong technology skills

Performance Responsibilities:
- Create a Library Media Center atmosphere that reflects and celebrates the diverse nature of our learning community.
- Work collaboratively with the district and building administration.
- Ensure Library Media Center alignment with the following standards and legislation.
- Select, evaluate, and maintain the library materials collection.
- Create and maintain a current, comprehensive Library Media Center website and materials catalog.
- Keep current with literary trends and preferences.
- Develop instructional units on the use of library resources and tools, including digital media literacy.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop instructional units on the use of library resources and tools.
- Assist staff in identifying appropriate and differentiated instructional resources to support literacy goals.
- Instruct classes and individuals in the use of library materials, services, and research techniques for efficient access to information.
- Prepare bibliographies and LibGuides (research guides), and pull materials to support classroom units and instructional objectives.
- Provide guidance on copyright, fair use, and appropriate use of materials and citations for students and staff.
- Encourage students and staff to give recommendations of library materials.
- Conduct periodic in-service meetings and professional development for staff .
- Maintain confidential library records for students and staff.
- Creates a safe environment for instructional innovation.
- Keep current with best practice research (through workshops, reading materials, conferences, journals, etc.).
- Assists in the identification of exemplary students and staff.
- Collects and analyzes data for a variety of purposes.
- Assumes accountability for ordering and inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Responsible for the management and maintenance of equipment, inventories, and physical space.
