Duties
The Social Worker Intern will assist existing school social workers with caseload management tasks including direct therapy, facilitating groups, completing assessments and participating in the IEP process, supporting instruction within the classroom, developing FBSs, BIPs and re-entry plans. Supervision and mentoring will be provided by highly experienced SSWs and/or LCSW's who stand ready to support and share their expertise with individuals new to the profession.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university in either a Masters or Doctoral School Social Work Program
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills with the ability and willingness to collaborate with school personnel to promote student learning
Salary/Benefits
This is a paid internship ($15,000 stipend) during the 2026-2027 school year.
Additional Notes
L.E.A.S.E. is a special education joint agreement cooperative serving the 27 school districts in LaSalle and Putnam Counties. SOAR is the Cooperative's public day school serving students with emotional and behavioral challenges.
