Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and culturally responsive ESL/Bilingual Polish Resource Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will provide targeted English and Polish language development support to Polish-speaking students, support multilingual learners, and collaborate with educators and families to ensure academic and social success for all students.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English as a Second Language (ESL) and Polish instruction to Polish-speaking and multilingual students in small group and individual settings.
- Have knowledge and experience teaching and assessing language using the English Language Development (ELD) Standards and WIDA resources.
- Support students in developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English while valuing and affirming their home language and culture.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, interventionists, and support staff to plan and implement instructional strategies that promote language acquisition and content mastery.
- Assess student progress regularly using district-approved tools and adjust instruction based on data.
- Provide resources, strategies, and communication in both English and Polish to support families, fostering a strong school-home partnership.
- Participate in professional development and remain current on best practices for teaching multilingual learners.
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines.
