Duties
George O. Barr Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Reading Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will foster a love for reading and literacy among students, helping them develop essential reading skills and comprehension strategies. This full-time position requires a collaborative approach to teaching, a commitment to student success, and the ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Literacy, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid Illinois license to teach elementary school reading.
- Proven experience teaching reading at the elementary level.
- Strong knowledge of reading instruction methodologies and literacy development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to professional growth and development in the field of education.
- Familiarity with educational technology and resources to support reading instruction.
Salary/Benefits
This is a full-time equivalent position. The base salary for a 1.0 full-time position is $46,575.
