PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsibilities of this job include executing tasks and duties associated with business matters of the District.
SUPERVISOR: Director of Special Education
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must possess the following qualifications:
- Applicant must hold a valid Illinois certification for the position for Madison County with applicable endorsement(s)
- Successful experience in the position being applied for is desirable
- Technology based applications for instruction
- District curriculum requirements relevant to the specific position
- Developmentally appropriate instructional practices and learning environments
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Screens the speech and language of Early Childhood students
- Identifies students who are in need of speech/language therapy
- Evaluates the referred students in speech/language skills
- Implements a schedule that provides blocks of time for therapy, evaluations and conferences.
- Prepares and implements student individualized Education Program (IEP) or Individualized Service Plan (ISP)
- Provides speech/language therapy with each identified student
- Maximum case load of 60 students
- Prepares for, submits information for and participates in annual review conferences of each student receiving speech/language therapy
- Prepares reports as required by the District
- Participates in in-service workshops initiated by the District
- Provides Language Development enrichment program to Kindergarten classes
- Completes other reasonable duties as assigned during the normal day/year or in case of emergency situations.
