Duties
Henry-Senachwine High School is looking for a candidate to serve as a full time Science teacher in our building with an emphasis on Chemistry, Physics and Physical Science. Other classes may be taught based on certifications held. HSHS teachers teach seven academic periods during the day with 1 planning period scheduled daily.
Qualifications
The selected candidate must possess a high moral and ethical character, be a team player, and a student advocate. The selected candidate must have a desire to make a positive impact on the students they work with and the staff members they collaborate with on a daily basis. The selected candidate must also possess a growth mindset to ensure they continue to grow and learn as well as helping to guide their students along that journey as well. A valid Illinois Teaching License with the necessary endorsements to teach Science grades 9/12 is also required.
Salary/Benefits
The salary will be determined via the collective bargaining agreement and is regionally competitive.
Additional Notes
Beginning in August 2026 Henry-Senachwine High School will have a brand new academic wing with new Science labs to serve approximately 150 students and sustains a professional staff of 22.
