Duties
Position Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic 8th Grade Math Teacher to join our middle school team. The ideal candidate will engage and challenge students while building strong math skills to prepare them for high school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver standards-based math instruction aligned to the curriculum
- Teach topics including linear equations, functions, geometry, and introductory algebra
- Use data to inform instruction and provide targeted support and enrichment
- Create a positive, student-centered classroom environment
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Collaborate with colleagues on grade-level and subject-area teams
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
- Maintain accurate records, including grades, assessments, and attendance
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics or a related field (Master's preferred)
Valid IL Professional Educator License with Middle School Mathematics endorsement (or ability to obtain)
Strong knowledge of 8th grade math standards and best instructional practices
Effective classroom management and student engagement strategies
