Duties

• Provide direct instruction to special needs students
• Develop Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) that align to Common Core State Standards
• Plan, deliver, and evaluate instruction for special education students
• Utilize Differentiated Instruction
• Continual review of student data
• Collaborate with general education teachers and administration
• Utilize classroom Para Educator according to the ISBE guidelines
• Compile, maintain, and file all required reports
• Maintain appropriate contact with parents to enrich student performance

Qualifications

Must hold a Professional Educator License with a Special Education Endorsement valid in Illinois.

Must hold a Professional Educator License with an Early Childhood Endorsement valid in Illinois.

Salary/Benefits

In accordance with experience and the Professional Negotiated Agreement.
Range ($49,437 - $66,785)

Dolton School District 149 is a PreK-8th grade school district with a student population of over 2000 students. Elementary Teaching Candidates must possess a growth mindset and be willing to nurture strong relationships with students, parents, and school colleagues. Candidates must also possess the mindset that the social emotional needs of students must be met in order for learning of curriculum to occur. Dolton School District 149 holds students to the highest standards of character and integrity while providing a technology-rich environment with up-to-date curriculum. New teachers to Dolton School District 149 will be supported through a teacher mentoring program.
