Duties
The English educator instructs students in the areas of English, reading, speaking, and writing. Working collaboratively
within professional learning communities to build curricula and establish common assessments is required.
Additionally, having knowledge of data-driven, research based pedagogical approaches to instructing and learning is
strongly desired. Knowledge of Response to Intervention (RtI), new Illinois Learning Standards, Next Generation
Learning Standards, technology integration, and methods of differentiation is necessary. Previous experience is
preferred but would strongly consider a candidate with the necessary credentials without experience who is highly
motivated, exceptional in disposition (caring, compassionate, patient, etc.), and extremely dedicated to the academic
and social growth of all students. The educator in this position reports to the building principal.
Qualifications
The professional educator MUST possess an Illinois Professional Educator License with English/Language Arts
endorsements for grades 9-12.
