Mathematics Charter High School Teacher

Duties

  • The teacher will provide quality instructional for students in regular and honors
    courses in chemistry.
  • Establish a positive and supportive environment for an effective instructional
  • Encourage consistent productive classroom environment.
  • Demonstrate respect for diverse perspectives, ideas, and options.
  • Accept and value students from diverse cultures and treat all students
  • Assist students in setting goals and assuming responsibility.
  • Enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies.
  • Use technology resources effectively.
  • Instruction is guided by the Danielson Framework of Teaching.
  • Collaborate with others to improve student academic performance
  • Communicate effectively with staff members, students, parents,
    administrators, and community personnel.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to parents and students about
    student attendance.
  • Keep administrators informed of parent contact and document interaction.
  • Professional responsibilities that must be adhered to;
  • Act in a professional and ethical manner and adhere at all times to ethical behavior and professional conduct which is consistent with federal, state,
    and Board policies.
  • Demonstrate attention to punctuality and regular attendance.
  • Ensure adherences to good safety standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
  • Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate support for the school and its goals and policies.
  • Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.

Qualifications

  • Must be articulate, well-organized and very knowledgeable about school curriculum, instruction, staff development and staff evaluation.
  • Must also have high expectations for themselves and their students and be energetic and enthusiastic in their attitude and approach.
  • Must also be highly qualified as determined by the Illinois State Board of Education and the Federal No Child Left Behind Standards and possess a current Illinois Teaching Certificate with an endorsement to teach high school algebra and geometry.
  • A highly successful track record as a high school teacher
  • Excellent organizational, communication, public relations and interpersonal skills
  • A high level of understanding and experience with data-driven and standards-based instruction
  • Experience in designing instructional lessons tailored to the individual academic needs of students
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A collegial/collaborative approach with all members of the staff
  • A proven track record of high student achievement
  • A proven track record of maintaining high student attendance and discipline
  • Expertise in assessing and evaluating student achievement
  • Be knowledgeable of special education rules and regulations for compliance
  • Excellent technological skills. Familiarity with the Mac platform is a must.
  • Proven experience in building parent and partnerships
  • Ability to interact successfully with staff, parents, board members and community
  • High moral and ethical standards

Salary/Benefits

Salary and Benefits: Determined by the Superintendent/CEO per duties and responsibilities.
