Duties

The Intervention Specialist supports the student outcomes vision by providing ongoing coaching and consultation, technical assistance, professional development, collaborative problem-solving and crisis management support to all members of the educational team.

Essential Job Functions:
- Collaborate with school staff to improve academic and behavioral outcomes for all students
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with educational teams, school administrators, students and parents to identify and implement goals, plan and implement evidence-based practices in the delivery of assessment, instruction and behavioral principles
- Facilitate educational team meetings, including domain and reevaluation meetings
- Provide professional development related to specific topics (e.g., Autism, Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, Data collection, Data Analysis)
- Locate and link resources based on student needs
- Provide on-going technical assistance to school personnel as it relates to using assessment data to make instructional decisions
- Model best practices in instruction for general and special education students
- Provide feedback in a meaningful manner to team members, teaching assistants and students
- Lead the team in problem solving system-wide; classroom and individual issues

- Executive Director of Instruction
- Learning Coordinator
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License endorsed as a School Psychologist or School Social Worker
- Recent experience working with students with significant social/emotional needs
Preferred additional abilities/knowledge:
- Best practices in consultation, collaboration, and coaching
- Best practices in working with students with challenging behaviors
- Knowledge about effective instructional strategies for all students
- Knowledge and experience working with and educating students with disabilities

Compensation:
This position follows the TrueNorth 804 Faculty Association Collective Bargaining Agreement for both regionally competitive salaries and excellent benefits.
