Duties
- Conduct engaging and informative classes on topics such as automotive diagnostics, air conditioning, OSHA regulations, automotive repair, HVAC systems, and electrical work.
- Develop and deliver lesson plans that cater to high schoolers with diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Establish an Auto Repair simulation classroom that brings in cars from the community so students understand what it takes to run an Auto Shop (including billing, ordering parts, etc).
- Provide hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises to enhance learning outcomes.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
- Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and projects.
- Stay current with industry trends and updates to ensure course content remains relevant.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent field experience (AAS degree)
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, fuel systems, electric engine controls, engine performance, transmissions, OSHA standards, automotive repair procedures, HVAC systems, fundamentals of electricals/electrical, and fabrication methods.
- Experience or comfort in teaching technical subjects is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Classroom management skills to maintain a productive learning environment.
- Relevant certifications or licenses in the technical areas being taught.
Salary/Benefits
$39,000-$45,000 (based on experience and education level)
