Duties

Planning and Preparation
- Demonstrate knowledge of content basic to the social work profession.
- Establish goals for social work services appropriate to the setting and students served.
- Demonstrate knowledge of district, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
- Demonstrating knowledge of resources, both within and beyond the school and district.
- Designing the social work program using a needs assessment, which may include individual and small group sessions, in-class activities and crisis intervention.
- Developing an evaluation of the social work program.
- Serves as the District/Building McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaison.
The Environment
- Creating an environment of respect and rapport.
- Organizing time effectively.
- Establishing and maintaining clear procedures for referrals.
- Contributing to the culture of positive student behavior throughout the school.
- Organizing physical space for working with individual or small groups of students and storage of materials.
Delivery of Service
- Assessing students’ social and emotional needs, including collaboration among students, parent and school personnel.
- Assisting students and teachers in the formulation of academic, personal/social and behavior plans, based on knowledge of student needs and IEP goals.
- Communicate intervention plan and student progress with the student’s family.
- Collecting information; writing reports.
- Demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness.

- Attend meetings, serve on committees, and perform such other duties and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal or his/her designee in accordance with the labor agreement and the Board of Education.
- Have regular attendance and infrequent absences.

This is a full-time position with a start date of 8/13/24.
