Duties
Oakland CUSD #5, as a part of the Tri-County Co-op, is looking for an individual to fill the role of head varsity coach for high school football.
- Assist the athletic director to arrange all schedules for the season, including practices and games.
- Assist the athletic director in maintaining and caring for athletic facilities and to aid in the preparation of the facilities for contests when needed.
- Conduct a pre-season meeting with all candidates outlining training rules and expectations regarding the athlete's attitude, conduct, and appearance as an athlete and as a student.
- Plan practices and game strategy.
- Assist the Athletic Director in the purchase of equipment from responsible companies, following the school's purchasing procedure.
- Responsible for the issuance, return, care and inventory of equipment
- Keep accurate records of student participation in athletic contests.
- Ride the team bus to and from athletic events
- Conduct practice and games with the highest level of sportsmanship and ethics. Profanity is not to be used by the coaching staff or athletes
- Distribute and maintains of emergency forms
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned by administration.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants must have successful experience coaching football at the high school level.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Maintain required coaching certifications
- Pass a background check/fingerprinting
- Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions.
- Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.
- Demonstrate ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner.
- Address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.
- Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to push and pull up to 10 lbs.
Salary/Benefits
The stipend for the 26-27 school year, as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, is $5822.
Additional Notes
Oakland is the host school for this sport within the co-op. The co-op is comprised of Kansas HS, Oakland HS, and Shiloh HS.
