Duties
Aviston Elementary School District #21 is seeking motivated applicants who demonstrate strong teaching skills, exceptional organization, appropriate classroom management, and a team mentality. The main assignment is 7th and 8th grade Science instruction, with periods of Social Science and electives.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain engaging daily lesson plans based on district curriculum, and NGSS/Illinois State Science Standards.
- Maintain accurate and regular grade records and report student progress to parents and administration as required.
- Provide quality instruction that includes differentiated learning experiences for the range of skill level and developmental needs of the students.
- Promote a high amount of hands-on learning, experiments and activities to develop student interest in the subject areas taught.
- Maintain and inventory science materials and science laboratory
- Prepare students for and administer the Illinois Science Assessment
- Coordinate with other teachers and administration to provide educational opportunities and communications that benefit student learning.
- Utilize relevant technology to support and enhance instruction.
- Maintain consistent contact with parents/caregivers regarding classroom activities, student progress and needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Illinois Professional Educators License with Middle School Science Endorsement. Short-Term Emergency Approval will also be considered.
