High School Math Teacher APPLY ONLINE Share: Print: Duties Instruction & Curriculum Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, or other assigned courses) aligned to Illinois State Board of Education standards. Develop lesson plans that incorporate a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs. Use data-driven instruction to adjust teaching practices and improve student achievement. Integrate technology and real-world applications to enhance mathematical understanding. Assessment & Student Progress Design and implement formative and summative assessments to measure student learning. Analyze student data (e.g., benchmark assessments, classroom performance) to guide instruction. Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress and grades. Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and families. Classroom Environment & Management Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment. Implement effective classroom management strategies aligned with district expectations. Promote positive student behavior and engagement in learning. Student Support & Communication Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including special education and English learners. Collaborate with special education staff, interventionists, and counselors to support student success. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns. Provide extra help opportunities (before/after school, RTI, tutoring). Professional Responsibilities Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and school improvement initiatives. Attend faculty meetings, professional development, and district trainings. Maintain appropriate certification and stay current with best practices in math instruction. Uphold school policies, procedures, and expectations. Collaboration & School Involvement Work collaboratively with colleagues to align curriculum and assessments. Contribute to curriculum development and vertical alignment across grade levels. Participate in school activities, committees, or extracurricular programs as assigned. Additional Duties Supervise students in non-classroom settings as assigned (hallways, study halls, etc.). Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate Math endorsement through the Illinois State Board of Education. Strong knowledge of high school math content (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and/or higher-level math). Ability to effectively plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents.
