Duties
The Vocational Coach assists in instruction and implementation of the vocational and educational programs at HJSHS. Assists students in obtaining their vocational objectives as outlined in their individualized education programs (IEP’s) and assists classroom staff with behavioral intervention, data collection, organizing materials, and implementing strategies consistent with the social learning model of the program. Demonstrates an ability to apply trauma-informed principles and integrates them into daily practice. Communicates effectively and promotes collaborative problem solving by demonstrating care and respect in considering the diverse experiences and perspectives of others.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree in education and previous experience in a special education setting with a relevant population preferred.
Paraprofessional approval (or ability to obtain upon hire) required. Substitute Teacher licensure in the State of Illinois preferred.
Good emotional and physical health, including the physical ability to implement The Baby Fold’s approved therapeutic crisis intervention procedures.
Must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain a school bus driver license permit upon hire.
Ability and willingness to travel for job responsibilities, including a valid Illinois driver’s license which has not been revoked or suspended within the past three years, and use of a personal vehicle with adequate insurance.
Salary/Benefits
Starting at $34,125 per year, paid hourly, more based on experience, certifications and education. This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime pay. Full benefits available.
