Duties
The South Macoupin Association for Special Education is seeking a full-time school social worker for placement in the Staunton and Mt. Olive School Districts for the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will teach social and communication skills to students with disabilities; provide individual and small group therapy services as per IEPs; provide outreach services to families of students; participate on IEP teams for both initial and reevaluations for special education eligibility; be a liaison for families regarding information/community resources; and provide leadership in initiatives and programs relevant to social services for students.
Qualifications
Professional Educator License with an endorsement in School Social Work, School Counseling or School Psychology
Salary/Benefits
Salary and Benefits are commiserate with experience and regionally competitive. Mileage is provided.

SMASE is a special education cooperative which serves the member districts of Mt. Olive CUSD 5, Staunton CUSD 6, and Gillespie CUSD 7. We are located 1 hour south of Springfield, 30 minutes north of Edwardsville and 45 minutes from St. Louis.
