Duties
This position is for a K-4 Lifeskills teacher, to provide functional special education services for approximately 7-8 students at McKinley Elementary School. The individual in this position would manage their caseload and provide instruction for students who are typically eligible for special education under the categories of developmental delay, autism, and intellectual disability. The McKinley Lifeskills program currently has two sections and this will add a 3rd to help reduce class sizes. While we would prefer to add this 3rd section in January 2025, we are willing to wait until August 2025 for the right candidate. The program has access to a sensory room, new playground, and uses subscriptions to Unique and Edmark to help enrich the instructional opportunities.
Qualifications
Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement required
Salary/Benefits
The current CBA allows OES to accept up to seven years of experience from other school districts. Competitive salary + full board - paid TRS contribution, BCBSIL health insurance, and other benefits per the collective bargaining agreement.
