Manufacturing Instructor

Duties

  1. Instruct students in machining, welding, and mechanical/automotive skills.
  2. Deliver orientation-level through advanced technical training.
  3. Model, teach, and enforce strict shop and lab safety practices.
  4. Maintain a safe, organized, industry-standard learning environment.
  5. Train students in OSHA-aligned procedures and proper tool/equipment use.
  6. Assess student skills through hands-on, performance-based evaluations.
  7. Align instruction with Illinois CTE and workforce standards.
  8. Performs other duties as may be assigned by administration.

Qualifications

  1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Substantial industry experience in manufacturing, mechanical, or automotive fields.
  3. Strong knowledge of shop safety, tools, and equipment.
  4. Ability to work effectively with high school students.
  5. Experience across manufacturing, mechanical, and automotive fields.
  6. CNC, blueprint reading, and precision management skills.
  7. Willingness and eligibility to obtain an Illinois Provisional Educator License.
  8. Teacher certification my be obtained after hire through provisional pathway.
  9. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  10. Must be able to carry up to 35 lbs.
  11. Requires employee to have the ability to push/pull up to 26 lbs.

Additional Notes

Hours may vary based on school district needs.  Shifts will be assigned by administration and/or supervisor. Overtime is required when requested.
