Bilingual (Spanish) Speech and Language Pathologist-1969

Duties

The speech language pathologist is responsible for screening, assessing, and identifying students with communication disorders that adversely affect their educational progress. The speech language pathologist develops and provides direct services within the student’s educational setting according to the goals and objectives of the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The speech language pathologist collaborates with other classroom teachers and related service providers in the development and implementation of services, ensuring that the student’s needs are met in all school settings. There are four positions available for the 2026-2027 school year.   

Qualifications

  • Current and valid PEL with a Speech Language Pathologist endorsement.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish.
  • Outstanding knowledge of the principles and techniques of speech-language therapy. 
  • Knowledge of the methods and procedures for the assessment and treatment of communication disorders. 
  • Ability to develop, evaluate, and modify IEPs based on assessment data.
  • Able to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement best practices designed to ensure that a student’s needs are met in all school settings.
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to prepare and deliver written and oral summaries of evaluations and other reports to colleagues and families.
  • Ability to establish a positive rapport with students.
  • Understands the importance of communicating and working closely with the families of students.

 

Salary/Benefits

  • Starting salary of $60,697.  (Please click the link to view the current  (salary schedule)
  • Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
  • Qualified candidates may be granted up to twenty years of verified full-time teaching experience for credit on the salary schedule.

Additional Notes

  • Pre-K through Grade 5 Work hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Middle School Work Hours: 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
  • 180 days per year - August through May
