Duties
The Coordinator of Multilingual Learners will support the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of best practices, and research-based curriculum and instruction for multilingual learners.
Key Responsibilities
? Design, modify and support curriculum maps, scope and sequence, and unit plans that impact the learning and growth of multilingual learners.
? Collaborate with teachers and administrators to adapt instructional materials to meet diverse student needs.
? Provide training and coaching to teachers on best instructional practices that support the use of differentiated instruction, language acquisition pedagogy and intervention strategies.
? Analyze student performance data to guide curriculum improvements and interventions.
? Maintain records and informational documents on the use and effectiveness of curricular resources.
? Collaborate with building and district administration.
? Actively participate in committees, task forces and other related teams for the purpose of providing insight and PD recommendations about curriculum and instruction of multilingual learners.
? Assist in the development and evaluation of curriculum and instructional programs.
? Serve as a resource for educators regarding best practices of multilingual learners.
? Develops strong and positive relationships with district stakeholders, and attends community and Board of Education meetings as directed.
? Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Professional Educator License, Administrative Endorsement Certificate and at least one of the following endorsements: ESL Endorsement and IL Bilingual Certification (any language, Spanish is preferred).
? Successful experience as a multilingual administrator, building administrator and/or curriculum lead.
? A minimum of five years of successful experience in teaching.
? Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills.
? Knowledge of current learning and supportive methods for students with disabilities.
? Demonstrated leadership in multilingual education.
? Strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
? Collaborative management style.
? Demonstrated ability to perform duties under stress, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adhere to strict deadlines to maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
Salary/Benefits
The recommended candidate for this position will receive a regionally competitive starting salary ($83,800) depending on educational background and experience. A comprehensive benefits package including Board-paid TRS and THIS contributions, twenty - five days paid vacation per year, and 80% district-paid medical (including 100% reimbursement for non-emergency care at Rush affiliated providers on our PPO & HCA plans) and dental insurance.
