Duties

The Director of Student Services is an administrator responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive student support programs to ensure equitable access and academic success for all learners. This includes special education, Section 504, social-emotional learning, counseling services, health services, and related support programs. The Director ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and fosters inclusive practices that support a diverse student population.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
  • Administrative endorsement required; Principal or General Administrative Endorsement (formerly Type 75) preferred.
  • Director of Special Education endorsement strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in special education, with a combination of teaching and/or administrative responsibilities.
  • Completion of ISBE-approved teacher evaluation training preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and best practices related to special education and student support programs.
