Duties

Opening for a K-6 School Counselor at Wethersfield Elementary School. Seeking applicants that will support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development of students. The counselor will work closely with students, teachers, administrators, and families to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
2. Valid Illinois School Counselor Certification or ability to obtain certification
3. Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
4. Strong understanding of child development, behavioral interventions, and social-emotional learning strategies
5. Knowledge of school counseling best practices, including ASCA standards
6. Teamwork and collaboration are required, along with reflection and a desire to continually improve your practice
7. Other qualifications that are deemed important by the Board of Education
