Anticipated: Social Worker ECC for 2026/27 School Year

Duties

PERFORMANCE REPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Personal/Social Development

 

The Social Worker shall:

Priority I

  1. Meet the needs of students with social work services as required by Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
    1. Schedule time to meet with students to satisfy minutes.
    2. Set and work on Social Emotional Learning Goals with students.
    3. Share information/caseload with staff as needed.
    4. Share information at transition times (from prior school—transfer in or change of school within district—to current school) of students with special needs.
    5. Maintain student files.
      1. Easy IEP Report Card Wizards
      2. Goals
  • Social Emotional Updates
  1. Collaborate with School Psychologist on RTI plan, Annual Reviews, Re-Evals, testing results, benchmark results, assist when possible.
  2. Conduct Social Developmental Study as needed.
  3. Conduct Adaptive Behavior Assessments as needed.
  4. Complete Medicaid Billing information.

Priority II

  1. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents/guardians to better understand and meet the needs of all students.
  2. Identify Personal/Social needs within the school through screenings, consultation with staff, office referrals, PBS data, attendance records, and observations.
    1. In particular: meet individually with any student in the at-risk category of the BESS screener.

 

To appropriately respond to these needs, the social worker shall:

  1. Provide individual counseling for students in response to identified needs within the school.
    1. Conduct intake upon first meeting with student

 

 

  1. Conduct small group counseling sessions for special education students or general education students in response to identified needs within the school, including, but not limited to:
    1. New Student Group and Luncheon.
    2. Social Skills Group as needed.
    3. Grief Group as needed.
    4. Divorce Group as needed.
    5. Attendance Group as needed.

 

  1. Participate in and assist with the RTI process for behavior at the school level.
    1. Consult with teachers on behavior management
    2. Consult on creation of Behavior Intervention Plans as needed
    3. Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments as needed

 

  1. Provide a link between students and appropriate community resources and outside agencies.
    1. Homeless
    2. Families in need
    3. Hospitalized student in emotional distress

 

Priority III

  1. Facilitate conflict resolution situations as needed between student/student and student/teacher.

 

  1. Student Services Curriculum

 

The Social Worker shall:

  1. Design, deliver, evaluate, and revise a sequential and developmentally appropriate school counseling curriculum (based on the American School Counseling Association standards), which will include lessons in academic, career, and personal/social development.
  2. Collaborate with staff to promote the school-wide integration of the Student Services curriculum.
  3. Provide student data relative to the school counseling curriculum outcomes to the District Curriculum Director.

 

  1. System Support

 

The Social Worker shall:

  1. Provide leadership by actively participating in various school committees.
    1. Behavioral RtI
    2. PBS
  2. Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills.
  3. Update Resource Directory
  4. Support teachers reporting to DCFS.
  5. Participate on the school-based crisis team.
  6. Assist the administration in the registration and scheduling process of students from families in need or homeless students.
  7. Maintain records consistent with ethical and legal guidelines.

Qualifications

Valid certification in School Social Work

                                                Experience in the field of School Social Work

Salary/Benefits

The starting salary for this position is no less than $49,000, and the benefits are outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
