Duties
PERFORMANCE REPONSIBILITIES:
- Personal/Social Development
The Social Worker shall:
Priority I
- Meet the needs of students with social work services as required by Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Schedule time to meet with students to satisfy minutes.
- Set and work on Social Emotional Learning Goals with students.
- Share information/caseload with staff as needed.
- Share information at transition times (from prior school—transfer in or change of school within district—to current school) of students with special needs.
- Maintain student files.

- Goals
- Collaborate with School Psychologist on RTI plan, Annual Reviews, Re-Evals, testing results, benchmark results, assist when possible.
- Conduct Social Developmental Study as needed.
- Conduct Adaptive Behavior Assessments as needed.
- Complete Medicaid Billing information.
Priority II
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents/guardians to better understand and meet the needs of all students.
- Identify Personal/Social needs within the school through screenings, consultation with staff, office referrals, PBS data, attendance records, and observations.
- In particular: meet individually with any student in the at-risk category of the BESS screener.
To appropriately respond to these needs, the social worker shall:
- Provide individual counseling for students in response to identified needs within the school.
- Conduct intake upon first meeting with student
- Conduct small group counseling sessions for special education students or general education students in response to identified needs within the school, including, but not limited to:
- New Student Group and Luncheon.
- Social Skills Group as needed.
- Grief Group as needed.
- Divorce Group as needed.
- Attendance Group as needed.
- Participate in and assist with the RTI process for behavior at the school level.
- Consult with teachers on behavior management
- Consult on creation of Behavior Intervention Plans as needed
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments as needed
- Provide a link between students and appropriate community resources and outside agencies.
- Homeless
- Families in need
- Hospitalized student in emotional distress
Priority III
- Facilitate conflict resolution situations as needed between student/student and student/teacher.
- Student Services Curriculum
The Social Worker shall:
- Design, deliver, evaluate, and revise a sequential and developmentally appropriate school counseling curriculum (based on the American School Counseling Association standards), which will include lessons in academic, career, and personal/social development.
- Collaborate with staff to promote the school-wide integration of the Student Services curriculum.
- Provide student data relative to the school counseling curriculum outcomes to the District Curriculum Director.
- System Support
The Social Worker shall:
- Provide leadership by actively participating in various school committees.
- Behavioral RtI
- PBS
- Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills.
- Update Resource Directory
- Support teachers reporting to DCFS.
- Participate on the school-based crisis team.
- Assist the administration in the registration and scheduling process of students from families in need or homeless students.
- Maintain records consistent with ethical and legal guidelines.

Qualifications
Valid certification in School Social Work
Experience in the field of School Social Work
Salary/Benefits
The starting salary for this position is no less than $49,000, and the benefits are outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
