Duties

  • Collaborate with teachers and instructional leaders to engage parents in the classroom and school/site, including meaningful volunteer opportunities.
  • Support development and implementation of parent education opportunities.
  • Implement and support activities to ensure a strong connection between home and school, including take home learning activities.
  • Support program efforts to recruit, screen and enroll children.
  • Support parents in ensuring student attendance.
  • Monitor health and dental records to ensure children receive regular screenings and follow up for any treatment needs.
  • Maintain student files and update SIS.
  • Assist parents in establishing primary care medical, dental, and mental health providers.
  • Conduct home visits as needed to support students and families.
  • Refer families to community resources to assist in achieving family goals.
  • Perform other incidental tasks consistent with both the goals and objectives of this position.

Qualifications

Must have committment to serving diverse families. Experience with families in a professional or personal capacity. Must hold valid driver's license.

Salary/Benefits

Salary is $30,000 with medical and life insurance benefits.

Additional Notes

This position will work collaboratively with families, PFA staff, and community partners to ensure that the program meets the needs of the whole child and supports parents/guardians in addressing family needs and setting and achieving ambitious family goals.

Typical work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. There are 180 work days on a year-round schedule.
