Duties

JOB GOAL:

To provide direct assistance to  students in order to promote the safest and most efficient environment while on route to and from school.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  Listed below but not limited to:

  • Assists students in getting on and off the bus
  • Maintains order and provides for the safety of all students through the use of appropriate student management techniques
  • Provides behavior feedback to teachers/administrators in format and time schedules as requested
  • Reports disciplinary and medical problems immediately to the driver and proper school authority
  • Assures that all special/adaptive equipment is secured while in transit and available to appropriate students
  • Acquired working knowledge of any student’s handicapping condition, if applicable, and maintains confidentiality of information
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint criminal background check. 

Special Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years’ old
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and communicate with students
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding in carrying out instructions
  • Ability to exercise appropriate disciplinary techniques
  • Ability to be trained in behavior modification techniques
  • Ability to work as a team member and serve as a role model
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, sit and use hands 
  • Frequently, the employee is required to assist physically challenged students

Salary/Benefits

Starting Rate: $15.00 per hour
