Duties
JOB GOAL:
To provide direct assistance to students in order to promote the safest and most efficient environment while on route to and from school.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below but not limited to:
- Assists students in getting on and off the bus
- Maintains order and provides for the safety of all students through the use of appropriate student management techniques
- Provides behavior feedback to teachers/administrators in format and time schedules as requested
- Reports disciplinary and medical problems immediately to the driver and proper school authority
- Assures that all special/adaptive equipment is secured while in transit and available to appropriate students
- Acquired working knowledge of any student’s handicapping condition, if applicable, and maintains confidentiality of information
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a fingerprint criminal background check.
Special Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:
- Must be 18 years’ old
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and communicate with students
- Ability to apply common sense understanding in carrying out instructions
- Ability to exercise appropriate disciplinary techniques
- Ability to be trained in behavior modification techniques
- Ability to work as a team member and serve as a role model
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, sit and use hands
- Frequently, the employee is required to assist physically challenged students
Salary/Benefits
Starting Rate: $15.00 per hour
