Duties
RTHS will have a bilingual school social worker opening for the 2025-2026 school Year. Some responsibilities include working with students on their post-secondary plans, student scheduling, scholarships, college applications, state testing, and all other duties assigned by the building principal. The counselor will support students with their post-high school career and social-emotional learning needs. RTHS is a high school of approximately 850 students.
Other Duties could include:
- Provide direct social/emotional support to students; prioritizing special education as mandated by IEPs.
- Assist and provide support to students struggling with social-emotional and behavioral concerns.
- Participate in team meetings to represent the social-emotional aspect of the educational setting.
- Assist in the development of behavioral intervention strategies as well as formalized Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Provide interventions for students in crisis.
- Mobilize school and community resources to support the student in the educational setting.
- Consult with school staff to address social-emotional concerns of students.
- Assist teachers with classroom interventions.
- Contact with community resources.
- Provide professional training and community education opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary/Benefits
Competitive Salary (base salary for 25-26 Masters $49,255 $89,953), full paid TRS, full single health insurance and dental, and $20,000 Term Life Insurance. Counselors also work approximately additional 15 days in the summer for additional pay. There will also be additional stipends available for extracurriculars.

RTHS operates as a Professional Learning Community with weekly teacher collaboration time and offers an active mentor program.
