Duties

  • Provide a wide range of services, including in-services, consultations, assessments and intervention planning to the students, families and staff of the districts.
  • Assists in screening school enrollments to aid in identifying children who should be referred for initial evaluation and eligibility determination for special education. 
  • Provides an individual psychological examination, interprets findings, and makes recommendations. 
  • Provides written reports containing findings and recommendations gained from psychological evaluation. 
  • Assists in facilitating the special education eligibility/IEP process.
  • Conducts Functional Behavioral Assessments and supports development of Behavior Intervention Plans as applicable.
  • Provides consultative services to teachers and other school personnel in the planning of programs and services for students. 
  • Consults with parents regarding their child’s needs and assists in the development of the parents’ understanding. 
  • Functions as a resource in providing information regarding special education law and regulations. 
  • Acts as a liaison between the school district and community agencies/resources. 
  • Provides counseling as appropriate to meet the needs of students, individually or in groups. 

Qualifications

IL PEL with School Psychologist endorsement in Illinois. We are also willing to consider applicants for internships.

Salary/Benefits

As determined by the negotiated contract with potential for an additional salary multiplier.
