Duties
Overview of the Position:
To provide excellence in education by establishing an environment that facilitates student learning, encourages the realization of personal potential, and contributes to students’ development as mature, able, and responsible adults.
Qualifications
Qualities expected of the applicant are:
1. Professional Educator's License (PEL) with approval for teaching Special Education at the elementary school level in the State of Illinois.
- Understanding of Special Education inclusive services in a progressive environment.
- Prefer a candidate with experience in behavioral management particularly with students on the autism spectrum.
- An undergraduate and/or a graduate degree in special education including training and experience with the inclusion model and RtI/MTSS.
- Experience in writing and implementing an IEP.
- Recent experience teaching in a elementary special education setting strongly preferred.
7. The ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues.
Salary/Benefits
Salary and fringe benefits will be established in accordance with the Winnetka Public Schools School Board and the WEA Professional Agreement.
