Duties
Improve students' knowledge of grade practices. Teach and facilitate the skills and knowledge necessary for students to function as responsible citizens and for career readiness. Cultivate positive and collaborative relationships with students, staff, parents and the community. Thorough understanding of special education guidelines and law. Professionalism during IEP meetings. Maintain student conduct and discipline. Enhance student learning and morale. Ensure student welfare. Create projects that incorporate critical thinking skills. Utilize various curriculum resources. Creating lesson plans. Increase student knowledge and understanding of daily learning objectives by integrating competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans. Read and stay abreast of current topics in education. Develop professional relationships with the community and the utilization of local and regional resources.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Education. A Valid Illinois Professional Educator License and LBS1 Endorsement. Strong communication skills (oral/written) are required. Strong interpersonal skills are required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, parents and members of the community. Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of the subject areas. Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching and Charlotte Danielson Frameworks for Teaching.
Salary/Benefits
Actual pay depends on years of experience and degree hours completed. The range for this position is $44,500-$83,934. The Board of Education and the JCEA will negotiate in the spring of 2026.

3 Personal Leave days that can accumulate to 4 - after that any days are added to sick leave

12 sick leave days per year for each year they are employed in the District

Unused Sick Leave days are reported to TRS for credit when they retire

Sick leave accumulates to 340 days – When you retire, you may receive a maximum of two years (340 days) of service credit for unused, uncompensated sick leave

3 Bereavement days are granted per occurrence for immediate family
