Duties

The primary responsibility of the assistant principal is to assist the building principal in the supervision and improvement of instruction and professional competencies. A major portion of the assistant principal's time shall be spent working with the building principal to ensure that rigorous course content is accessible for all students, and providing opportunities for job-embedded professional development for licensed staff. The assistant principal is responsible for collaborating with the building principal in establishing a highly collaborative school culture focused on continuous improvement. The assistant principal provides support to the building principal in the organization and administration of the school through the management of communications, personnel, student discipline, services and resources, facilities, and records.  This position is available for the 2025-2026 school year.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a General Administrative or Principal endorsement;
  • Five years of successful teaching experience;
  • Prior administrative experience preferred;
  • Strong background in elementary/middle school curriculum, instruction, special education, and bilingual education;
  • Completion of required training to evaluate teachers preferred;
  • Ability to assist the principal in analyzing achievement data to help drive school-wide instructional targets and identify professional development needs;
  • Ability to work well in a professional community with high expectations for its students and school;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and parents;
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Salary/Benefits

  • Salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 commensurate with school administrative experience;
