Duties

  • Responsibilities:
    Prepare lesson plans, demonstrations, and materials for PLTW Engineering curriculum and career-related
    instruction.
  •  Work cooperatively with a team of CTE teachers to ensure consistency of instruction.
  • Coordinate, maintain inventories, and keep records of materials and equipment for classroom and
    laboratory.
  • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Instruct students on skills related to engineering, aerospace, robotics, and other associated professions.
  • Work cooperatively with staff to support a collaborative school culture.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Work cooperatively with teachers of all departments to support a collaborative school culture.
  • Possess strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Use research-based methods to develop engaging lessons that require a higher order of thinking.
  • Accommodate students with a variety of skills, abilities, and challenges.
  • PLTW course certification or the ability to get certified.
  • Appropriate Illinois Professional Educator License and/or required Provisional Licensure.
