Duties
- ExcelPrep is a specialized school within Champaign County focused on neurodiverse children ages 5-13 or grades K-8. This position requires collaboration with ABA staff and Educators.
Job responsibilities include:
- Evaluations and student assessments to understand needs related to writing, attention, organization, feeding, and sensory.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on goals and needs
- Provide intervention within 1:1 and small group setting
- Collaborate with teachers, behavior interventionists, and staff
- Develop and design programs to support daily living, independence, and cognitive processing
- Document progress, treatment plans, and outcomes daily
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in a hospital or acute care setting
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Strong problem-solving abilities to develop creative treatment strategies for patients with diverse needs
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Proficiency in using occupational therapy assessment tools
- Dedication to staying updated on the latest research and advancements in occupational therapy practice
