Duties
The Morrison Community School District is taking applications for principal at Morrison High School. Morrison High School is a 9-12 building with an enrollment of approximately 285 students. The Morrison School District is located in Northwest Illinois approximately 30 miles from the Metro Quad Cities area. The principal will serve as the lead instructional leader, coordinate efforts to build the capacity of teachers and maintain high student outcomes by promoting and modeling a culture that supports the District’s strategic plan. The successful candidate will need to have the ability to work with teachers and staff to implement the Illinois Learning Standards with integrity. The principal will be responsible for the supervision and evaluation of staff, school leadership, school improvement planning, resource allocation, supervision of extra-curricular events and activities, as well as ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment . The successful candidate will create, develop and sustain relationships with staff, parents, students and community that result in active student engagement in the learning process. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Superintendent and Board of Education as necessary.
Qualifications
Interested applicants should have:
- A valid Illinois Professional Educator's License with a General Administrative endorsement.
- Appropriate Master's degree required.
- At least five years teaching experience preferably at the 9-12 level.
- Illinois qualified evaluator of certified staff with extensive knowledge of and experience with Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching
