Duties
School Social Worker for Kindergarten through 8th Grades
- Provide direct social work services for students (K–8th Grades).
- Provide individual and group counseling to address students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Consult and collaborate with staff and parents to support student success.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
- Collaborate with and refer students and families to community agencies and resources.
- Serve as a member of the MTSS Team as needed for student support.
- Collaborate with special education cooperative members and school teams as needed.
- Collect data for social and behavioral programs to inform interventions and support student progress.
- Use a variety of assessment tools and techniques, including observation, interviews, and standardized instruments, to evaluate student performance within the school environment.
- Develop and implement SEL lessons in general education classrooms.
- Offer guidance to teachers (i.e. behavioral and/or social-emotional challenges)
- Adhere to the policies and procedures as established by the Board of Education and Administration
- Work harmoniously with students, parents, colleagues, and the administrative team to build relationships within the school community.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold the appropriate licensure and demonstrate the following characteristics: excellent leadership and communication skills, knowledge of a variety of teaching strategies and exceptional technology skills.
- Valid Professional Educator License with School Social Work Endorsement
- Masters Degree in Social Work
Salary/Benefits
Salary is based upon the negotiated teacher contract as well as experience and level of education.
