Duties
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Aligns practices and initiatives with the District’s Strategic Plan and the Preschool for All Expansion guidelines.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and ensures effective internal and external communication with stakeholders.
- Supports and provides oversight of the early childhood program’s key operational areas, including instruction, student support services, budget and accountability for student achievement.
- Supports in the continued development of connections with community and social service agencies.
- Assist school personnel in developing parent training and involvement programs and co-facilitates the Family Advisory Board/Parent Teacher Organization of the Valeska Hinton Early Childhood Education Center.
- Supports in the development and implementation of the kindergarten transition process.
- Assist in organizing the professional development opportunities to ensure continuous improvement of all staff associated with student achievement and program improvement.
- Supervises, mentors and evaluates teachers and other building level staff.
- Remains current on instructional and other research pertaining to student achievement and social-emotional learning needs in early childhood.
- Works in collaboration with the faculty and staff to develop programs and strategies to ensure high levels of achievement for each child.
- Embraces individual and special needs of each child and provides the appropriate educational programs and resources.
- Ensures fiscal and programmatic compliance with state and federal programs.
- Builds a school climate focused on achievement and success for each child.
- Assist families in obtaining services within the school district and the community.
- Performs such other duties and assumes other responsibilities as may, from time to time, be assigned.
