Duties

The Program Assistant (Paraprofessional) assists the Teacher Therapist and other classroom/support staff in providing a comprehensive education and behavioral program for elementary students with autism and other developmental disabilities. Also assists with behavioral intervention, supervising classroom activities collecting data, organizing materials, and implementing strategies consistent with the social learning model of the program.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and Paraprofessional approval (or ability to obtain upon hire) required. Bachelor's degree and substitute teacher licensure through the State of Illinois preferred. One year of experience working with adolescents with learning and behavioral disabilities in an educational, residential, or vocational setting preferred.

Salary/Benefits

$30,849 - $41,314 annually, hourly/non-exempt. More based on experience and education.
